Regina grew up in Plano TX, graduating from P.E.S.H. in 2005. She attended college in NSU for a year, before spending a semester at CCCC. After that she spent another year at NSU, before finally moving on to ULL, where she will graduate in spring of 2010 with a degree in Behavioral Science with a minor in visual arts.
She has been through a variety of majors, including: Education, Social Work, Animations, Graphic Design, Graphic Design + Business Minor, before finally settling on her current path. Although she greatly enjoys creating art, Regina prefers it as a hobby and not as her main form of income. That would just ruin the fun!
Other than running Weasel Juice and Winking Needle since 2005, Regina has held a variety of jobs.
She has experienced a variety of jobs, and learned a lot of different management styles from simply observing how her supervisers worked.
Regina started Weasel Juice in 2003, first as simply drawings for a friend (Failarhya). Shecreated a rat character to be included in the comic. Before long other friends wanted in on it and she was assigning them characters. Originally the story would be completely fictional, but art mimics life, and more and more comics were based off of true, or semi-true, events. Eventually it evolved into a sort of visiual-blog, with various amounts of reliability. In 2009 the website blew up, and all uploaded files were lost. Retrevial is possible but it is unclear at this time if the comic will be posted again.
Winking Needle started it's life in 2006 as the Weasel Juice Shop where Regina sold fleece hats at MechaCon in the Artist Alley. She sold again in the AA in 2007, but for 2008 the AA was filled up before she could order a table. She moved into the Dealer's Room that year, and found it to be much preferable. For 2009 she invited Misty-Chan, plushie artisan who started in 2005 at Numa Rei No Con, to join her table. It went well.
Regina really enjoys creating art. She has been drawing since she was really little. In elementary school she wanted to grow up to be a children's book writer. Now she really enjoys working on a variety of comics, with a variety of sucess. She also enjoys crafts, having done simple sewing with her mom since she was young. In 2007 she learned to knit, and after that attempted to learn to crochet. For a while she tried to learn guitar but gave that up when she rememebered she had no rhythme.
So many people have asked me for what I want for Christmas or my Birthday or whatever that I am now keeping a wishlist that I can point them to for ideas. I'm no good at remembering these things on the fly, and hate making specific requests. Half the joy of giving gifts is being able to pick something out!
