TL;DRToo Long; Didn't ReadThis is the Artist Commentary for the Comic. A more indepth understanding of what all the different symbols in the comic represent to me. Now, originally the comic was just going to be 100% fictional, just using characters based off people that I knew. Naldo, the squirrel, was all anarchist and what not, so I thought it would be interested if the my character, Aniger, secretly worked for the Government. I wanted to make a character for my Then-Boyfriend but already had 5 characters living in the house without backstory, so I made up some tale to bring Nitzua to he house involving him having run away and stolen something. That item he stole was going to play a bigger part early on. The pawn shop girl that bought it was going to be the girlfriend of the Lion that sold Aniger her chair, and the girl was going to be kidnapped and lots of fun hijinks were going to happen. But then me and my boyfriend broke up, and I had to change it. The chair being sold was based off of me selling my car. I was going away to college for the first time, although the school I went to wasn't an Art school. I was going there to get an education degree. Most of the the things that took place in Nasula were based off of real events. During Hurrican Katrina, the school got closed for a weekend. We were far enough north to not be affected badly. The convention that Aniger, Nitzua, and Naldo, go to was AnimeFEST. The Lizard guy was Randy from Something Positive. SAF indeed was started just as was shown. I summarized all the other drama going on at school as best I could. I was having a hard year, but I made a lot of friends there, so it was worth it. Spring semester I started dating "Forest" but before I was able to express that in my comic, I went to camp, we had issues, and broke up. And so, when my server went down, I wasn't in a big hurry to restart, since I wasn't sure how to handle it. But I've gotten a year along and am comfortable with how I'm going to handle things. It's going to get a lot more personal in the future comics, but I can live with that. | ||||
